Quick update to this here Live Journal, that doesn't involve picspamming or some such. *laughs*

My mother is in the hospital, having had hip replacement surgery a couple weeks back. She's currently in a rehab hospital, and recovering nicely, all things considered. I went out to see her a few days ago-- she looked very pale, but stronger. And bored. She is an avid bookworm, like me, though her tastes are quite a bit less varied than mine. I think she had Dad rent out half the library... LOL...

For me, mostly more of the same. Multiple projects taking up most of my focus. I'm still working on The Glass Veil, among other things. I'll be posting some pages of it here in a few days, just a teaser, when I've gotten together enough to show a coherent tale unfolding.

I discovered the other day that I really, really want a dog, or a cat. Preferably both. But I miss having dogs, big, sloppy, fluffy, loveable, huggable dogs. I have my heart set on either a German Shepherd or a Golden Retriever, but unfortunately I'm in no position for taking such an animal into my care at the moment. Maybe one day. In the meantime, I'll just croon over cute animal pictures.

And, that about wraps up this pointless update. Best wishes, all :)

I hope your mom gets to feeling better. I'll say a prayer for her.

Yeah I know what you mean. I love animals and I love to be around them more than people most the time. I seem to be more of a cat person, but I love dogs too. I hope you get to get one soon!

Thanks! She's improving quite well, actually.

lol... I can't really decide a preference when it comes to cats and dogs. Rather like comparing apples and oranges. (however, my personality is far more cat-like!)

Your welcome! I'm glad to hear it!

Yeah same here, but I just have a really cool relationship with my kitties. They have such neat personalities, not that dogs don't, but I dunno. I guess I relate more with cats. I've always wanted a German Shepard though! They're so pretty.

Re: One word...

I'm hoping she's out by now - hip replacements don't usually have to stay in very long and they're up and walking in a surprisingly short amount of time. In any case, speedy recovery to her, and I hope this gives her the new lease on life that I've seen a lot of people get after they've had hips replaced. Some of them have thought they'd be crippled for life, and to their amazement they're able to walk normally after the surgery. It's one of the things our doctors are actually good at...

Re: One word...

Oh yes, they released her yesterday. The trick now is making certain she does all of her excersizes, and keeps walking on it enough to keep from regressing. Before she left the rehab facility, she was making two circumferences of the (rather large) gym on her walker every day, so we'll have to make sure she keeps it up. Thanks for the well wishes!
